The Department of Municipalities and Transport identity combines the Government Crest with the full DMT name. It exists in two configurations — horizontal and vertical — each with fixed proportions and spacing between the crest and wordmark. The horizontal version is the preferred format and should be used wherever space allows.
The vertical version may be used in narrow or space-limited layouts. Both should always appear in full colour (Pantone Black C and Pantone 185) and must never be altered or redrawn.
To protect visibility and legibility, the logo must always be surrounded by clear space. The minimum clear space equals ½ the height of the crest (X).
In exceptional cases, where space is restricted, a reduced margin of ¼ the crest height may be used — only with prior approval from the DMT marketing team.
To ensure clarity, the DMT identity must never appear smaller than the defined minimum size. For print, the minimum width of the crest is 15mm. And for digital, the minimum width is 55px.
If in doubt, consult the DMT marketing team before applying the logo at smaller scales or in non-standard formats.
The DMT logo and the relationship between the crest and wordmark are fixed and must never be altered. Do not modify proportions, colours, spacing, or create alternative versions. The logo may be scaled as needed, but its structure must remain consistent across all applications.
The logo may appear on both solid colours and imagery, provided legibility and contrast are maintained. Ensure sufficient clear space and avoid placing the logo over busy or low-contrast backgrounds.
When unsure about visibility or background suitability, consult the DMT marketing team for review and approval.
When used alongside other logos, the DMT identity must retain visual prominence and separation. It should always be positioned on the right side, divided from partner logos by a clear separator line.
In multi-entity collaborations, all government logos should appear to the right, with affiliate or project logos aligned to the left, maintaining balanced spacing and hierarchy.
Preferred placement of the logo is in the right-hand corners of any format, ensuring balance and consistency across applications. Layout and messaging may influence final positioning; however, the logo should never feel secondary or misaligned.
In special cases, central alignment is permitted for specific communication types — subject to prior approval from the DMT marketing team.
DMT’s universal slogan — “For Abu Dhabi” — reinforces the department’s mission to serve the people and enhance the liveability of the Emirate. The slogan embodies DMT’s commitment to progress, community, and well-being.
Its use is subject to internal approval and should always align with official messaging and brand tone.
